What is an Enrolled Agent (EA)?

An enrolled agent is a tax professional who is licensed at the federal level by the Internal Revenue Service. They specialize in taxation and have unlimited rights to advocate for taxpayers before the IRS, as well as perform audits and appeals on behalf of their clients. EAs perform many of the same tasks that a CPA does when it comes to tax, and are held to the highest standards.
